Silchar went through a rough patch during the last few weeks of June. People were trapped inside their homes, with no electricity, no food, no water. Due to the breach of an embankment, the city of Silchar was under water with heavy currents; Due to which it has become difficult for people to go anywhere. Helpline numbers were provided by the administration, but lots of people are calling.
When local elected representatives abandoned their people, when the administration was unable to help everyone, many organizations and individuals took it upon themselves to help the public however they could. Then We (entire team of Vidya Bharati South Assam) is also started helping the people who are affected by this flood. And distributed the essentials to the needed people.
